Excitement is rippling through Coventry American Football Academy at the moment after the fantastic success of several top players. Three players from the club have been selected to represent Great Britain, showing a depth of talent which has sent morale amongst Coventry’s players shooting right up through the proverbial roof.

The stars selected were Hannah Russell-Yarde, Tom Clancy and Sam Johns, all three of which are bright young talents who undoubtedly have aptitude in bucketfuls and can only improve from their current level as they progress through the sport’s ranks.

Hannah was awarded the award of MVP at this year’s Cadet Final and will receive the great honour of being the youngest girl ever to represent her nation. Tom is considered to be one of the brightest and most exciting prospects at quarterback in the entire country and Sam is described by his head coach Andrew Gambrill as having “coupled outstanding natural talent with an enormous desire to learn and succeed”, boding well for his future.

Andrew also said of this achievement that he was “delighted for the individuals, though not surprised with their selection. All three have worked incredibly hard in training and shone in games all year. Everyone at the Academy is incredibly proud.” The players have their first chance to shine when they play a club team from Miami on October 4th.
